How to Sync SharePoint Contacts with Outlook

1) Browse to SharePoint site.

2) Go to Site Actions -> More Options… Create ->Select Contacts template.

3) Create the Contacts lists and enter the data there.

4) Next steps ->List Tools -> List -> Connect to Outlook -> Click Allow -> Click Allow

5) This will Sync the SharePoint contacts with Outlook.

6) Now open Outlook -> Contacts. The Contacts would be listed there.

Changes in the SharePoint list would sync in Outlook as well

Internet Explorer 10 Crashes when working on SharePoint 2010

Problem Description

Sorry "Internet explorer has stopped working" window appears and only option is to choose Close program.

Cause

The issue described in the ticket looks more of like a compatibility issue of IE, Office and SharePoint 2010.

Fix

This is what I did to fix this:

1) Close all Microsoft Office applications

2) Browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14

3) Rename the file NAME.DLL to NAME.DLL.old

4) Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Right click Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 uninstall programs -> Change -> Repair -> Continue

Black highlighting of text in Datasheet view

Issue description

When you try to edit, add text to datasheet view, you would see a black highlight on your column.

Also the row height in the datasheet wont auto adjust

How to fix this

Datasheet view Error for SharePoint with Office 64-bit versions

When you upgrade your Office versions to newer versions (mostly 64-bit), you would have come across the below error trying to access datasheet view in SharePoint:

The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons:

- A datasheet component compatible with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation is not installed.

- Your Web browser does not support ActiveX controls.

- A component is not properly configured for 32-bit or 64-bit support.
